75 Days of Actually Showing Up

It’s the end of my weekend, and I’m tired of hearing myself say, “I need to do something,” then watching another week go by.

So today I’m starting my own version of 75 Hard.

My rules, things I actually need to work on, and small promises I intend to keep. Because I have plenty of ideas. Following through? Yeah. That’s where we need to have a conversation.

Maybe you’re there too. Putting yourself last. Waiting for motivation. Saving all those posts about changing your life while your own life waits for you to put the phone down. Hello. Guilty.

You can try this with me, but make it yours. Pick two or three things you want to practice for the next 75 days:

• Read a few pages before reaching for your phone.
• Take a walk and give yourself some breathing room.
• Spend ten minutes on something you keep saying matters to you.
• Pause before buying something just because the day wasn’t as good as we would have liked.
• Make a little time to create something, even if nobody sees it.

Choose something that would actually make your days feel better. Something you want to have time, energy, or space for.

Write it down. Make it small enough to do on an ordinary, tired Tuesday. Check it off. And if you miss a day, come back. Please don’t turn one missed promise into another reason to give up on yourself.

I want to reach the end of this year with some evidence that I showed up for me.

Anybody else? Grab a notebook. We can start this NOW.
